MP visits as development of Cheshire Retirement Village extension nears completion
A CHESHIRE MP visited a retirement village which is putting the finishing touches on a major extension.
Construction work on 39 additional retirement flats in the retirement village of Gifford Lea, located just outside Chester, is due to be completed in late spring.
And Edward Timpson CBE, MP for Eddisbury, took a look to see how the development was shaping up.
Situated in the Cheshire countryside, Gifford Lea currently offers 104 later apartments and has a wellness spa with relaxation pool, restaurant, bar, hair and beauty salon, gym, crafts room and library/cinema room. When completed, the village will offer a total of 162 retirement residences.
Construction of phase 3 is nearing completion, with contractor Seddon having recently completed the first apartment block of the new phase.
The remaining Phase 3 apartments, including 10 affordable units available for condominium or rental, are expected to be completed later this spring. Phase 3 will also see the creation of common areas and landscaped gardens.
Gifford Lea’s design was awarded last year with a commendation at the Cheshire West and Chester Civic Awards for Design and Conservation 2021.
