Lake Macquarie Retirement Village Opens $5.5 Million Community Center

Cooranbong Gardens, in the NSW region of Lake Macquarie, has begun construction of its new community centre.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on February 21 to mark the start of construction of the center, which begins two years after the opening of the village.

Dubbed “The Pavilion,” the $5.5 million community center (artist’s rendition above) will contain a cafe and bar; a gym with sauna; lap pools and hydrotherapy pools; a bowling green; a cinema; and rooms for doctor visits, among other amenities.

Tracey Andrews, Sales and Marketing Manager, Recount Newcastle Weekly that the center – due for completion by the end of the year – will be a “big deal” for residents.

“The village has been operational for just over two years and, like most developments, we have experienced our fair share of delays due to COVID.

“We now look forward to celebrating Christmas together as a community in The Pavilion,” she says.

Billed as a boutique retirement living community set on 17 acres, Cooranbong Gardens began construction in February 2019, with its first show house opening in December of that year. Construction is taking place in stages, with completion scheduled for December 2022.
