Jubilee Tree Planting at Eastbourne Retirement Village
PENSIONERS came together to plant a tree to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Residents of Churchill Retirement Living’s Allingham Lodge in Eastbourne came together for planting as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative ahead of her Platinum Jubilee in June, marking 70 years on the throne.
The initiative encourages the planting of trees to create a legacy that will benefit future generations.
Anne Scherrer, Senior Regional Marketing Manager for Churchill Retirement Living, said: ‘It was wonderful to welcome everyone to this special event to kick off this year’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations at Allingham Lodge, and we would like to say Many thanks to those who participated.
“Many more events will soon be taking place at the lodge to mark the Queen’s Jubilee Year, and everyone is invited to come and enjoy a patriotic celebration and experience the lifestyle, friendship and meaning of the community offered here.”
Churchill Retirement Living will plant 40 trees at its retirement homes across the country this spring.
Allingham Lodge is a collection of one and two bedroom retirement apartments designed for the over 60s. Private accommodation offers the benefits of a shared owners lounge, guest suite, lodge manager and 24-hour emergency call alarm service.
