A local retirement community announced this week that it will require COVID-19 vaccination for all of its employees as a condition of employment.
Officials at Butterfield Trail Village, located at 1923 E. Joyce Blvd., said all full-time and part-time employees who work for the organization will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Nov. 1 of This year.
Officials said staff have been made aware of the new policy, which also requires booster shots or additional vaccines, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.
About 400 people live at Butterfield Trail, most of them living in private and independent settings. The campus also offers assisted living, memory care and long-term nursing support.
âWe feel a tremendous sense of responsibility to do everything possible to protect the health and safety of each of our residents and staff,â said Company CEO Quintin Trammell. “Many of those who live in Butterfield have underlying health issues, and we know that a fully vaccinated staff is the best possible defense in fighting the Covid-19 virus and its variants within our own walls.”
